seems like the perfect day out. we used to go to London zoo a lot when we lived in lambeth but you felt sorry for some of the animals in small enclosures and cages. they looked healthy enough but bored out of their minds! the worse zoo I'd ver seen was Belle Vue in manchester in the 60's (thankfully closed down now) which was the saddest place on earth with hippos standing in budgie trays of water and moth eaten lions pacing up and down in dog kennels etc.
