mmmm OK

So I've got 8 mbps broadband now (well 7.1 -according to the connected icon in my system tray). I've just tried to watch a teeny-tiny Realplayer movie clip from the BBC - and hey! Guess what! Realplayer is as crap as it ever was even on dial up. Useless piece of crap. Gah.

It often is crap even if your connection rocks... plus the BBC don't help by being about the only people in the world who insist on using Real Media for all of their video content. Bunch of arse. Roll on using Flash video for all its lovely platform independentness... OK, enough of the geek stuff. For a good speed test (your system tray icon is unlikely to be reliable) see www.speedtest.net.

Yeah, the BBC using Real is a bit pants, it never plays properly. I suppose I should be grateful they're not using Windows Media though, as that doesn't play brilliantly on Macs either, and there's a good chance that we won't be able to play it at all if the iPod vs Zune thing gets out of hand :(
